A.P.E.
The Lincoln County Coalition Against Child Abuse uses the Awareness,
Prevention, and Education (A.P.E.) philosophy and recognizes that as
a community problem, child abuse requires a community response and
solution.
Recognize the Warning Signs
Nervousness around adults
Aggression toward adults or other children
Inability to stay awake or to concentrate for extended periods of
time
Sudden, dramatic changes in personality
Unnatural interest in sex
Low self esteem
Poor hygiene
How to Report Suspected Child Abuse or Neglect
If you suspect abuse or neglect my be occurring, report it by calling
the Department of Social Services at 704-732-0738, or Lincoln County
Sheriff’s Office at 704-732-9050, or Lincolnton Police Department
704-736-8900.
Classes
The Lincoln County Coalition Against Child Abuse offers classes and
training to the community on recognizing child abuse and what child
abuse is. If you are interested in a class session for your
organization, please contact us at 704-736-1155, or click the link
below to download a form to complete. We offer customized classes to
fit your organization’s needs. Whether you are a school group of
young children, a church youth group, or a facility that works with
services that deal with children, we will customize a session to
meet your goals and objectives.
